Highlights from Day 2 at Pursuing Justice 2016

Day 2 at Pursuing Justice 2016

We're thrilled to share some highlights from the second day of our national conference with you. From the deeply moving founder of the Equal Justice Initiative, Bryan Stevenson, to the inspiring Senior Advisor to the President, Valerie Jarrett, and to the gripping story of Alba Morales, a low-wage worker in the U.S. Senate Cafeteria, conference participants have been moved to tears (more than once!) and called to pursue justice (also more than once!).

So many powerful moments have been packed into a short amount of time as more than 500 progressive Jews and our allies have dived into some of the most pressing issues facing our nation. It has been a joy to experience the transformation of the participants here into a community. We are truly forming a moral minyan for America.

“If we honestly believe that we are a country that believes in redemption, we have to walk the walk, not just talk the talk.”

— Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor to the President of the United States

“Change will only come when you are 100% dissatisfied. 99.9% won't do.”

— Tonda Case

“We have to believe that we can accomplish justice that we have never seen.”

— Bryan Stevenson, founder and Executive Director of Equal Justice Initiative
